Blackberry Margarita

We’re up at the lake for Memorial weekend and wanted a refreshing cocktail to enjoy. This Blackberry Margarita hit the spot!

Ingredients

Sugar (for the rim)

3-5 blackberries per glass

2 oz lime juice

Drizzle of Agave

2 oz tequila

1.5 oz triple sec

Topo Chico for a little fizz OR club soda

Lime wedge

Sprig of fresh mint

Directions

Rub lime wedge all the way around rim of glass. Pour sugar on a flat plate and dip the rim of your limey glass in the sugar. Set aside.

Extract 2 oz lime juice from a lime add to your shaker.

Add 3-5 blackberries to the lime juice and a drizzle of Agave (approximately 1 tablespoon). Muddle the blackberries, lime juice and agave in the shaker.

Measure out 2 oz tequila (I used Jose Cuervo, silver. But any tequila will do.) Add to the blackberry mixture in the shaker.

Measure out 1.5 oz of triple sec, add to the shaker.

Add ice. Put your shaker lid on and shake, shake, shake!

You can pour into a glass through a strainer if you don’t like the blackberry bits, but I think that’s the best part. Top with more ice, whole blackberries for garnish, and a sprig of mint. Enjoy!!
