Spicy Smoked Chicken Wings

Chicken

My family loves it when I do anything in the smoker. I prefer smoked salmon, but they love chicken, ribs, and so much more. These smoked chicken wings are spicy, smokey and super flavorful. The best part? You get all of that smokey flavor in just one hour! The rub on these wings to soooo YUM!

Ingredients

Chicken Wings (I like to request all drumettes from the butcher)

2 Tablespoon Olive oil

2 Tablespoons Chili Powder

2 Tablespoons Smoked Paprika

1 teaspoon Cumin

1 teaspoon Onion powder

1 teaspoon Garlic powder

2 teaspoons Kosher salt

3 teaspoons Fresh Ground Pepper

1 teaspoon Cayenne

Pecan Wood Chips

Water

Directions

Pat wings dry.

Combine spices to form the rub.

Place wings in a Ziploc bag, add rub and olive oil over chicken.

Let wings rest for at least an hour or overnight.

Heat the smoker to 225-250 F with pecan chips. Allow smoker to heat up and begin smoking.

Place wings in smoker.

Smoke for 1 to 1.5 hours, maintaining a constant smoke. The chicken should have an internal temperature of 160.

After smoking, you can place the chicken directly on a hot grill to allow to crips if desired. But this step is not necessary.

Remove from heat and let rest for approximately 10 minutes.

Serve.
